‘Walkaday’ was established by SMBC in 1996. Opportunities for walking, talking and socialising post-walks, great benefits for physical and mental health and social interaction. Opportunities to enjoy the countryside with like-minded people. Initially based in and around Stockport, now venturing around Greater Manchester’s 10 Boroughs AND outside of Greater Manchester in up to 9 counties around the outskirts of Stockport and Greater Manchester.

The programme runs for over 50 weeks each year. No membership fees, uses Public Transport – just turn-up at the Starting-place. Recommend wearing suitable gear for hiking in all weathers. Boots and sticks are also recommended.

Wed/Fri – Day walks, 6-9 miles walks of moderate difficulty – bring water and a picnic. Average pace: 2 mph, including breaks. Finish is usually before 4.30pm.

This walk will contain some stiles.
