Overview

A four-mile walk around Broadbottom starting from the Lymefield Outdoor Learning Centre (which has replaced the visitor centre mentioned in the leaflet). Quiet lanes, a little-known wooded clough and farmland combine to make an attractive and varied walk. There are good views from the higher ground.

Accessibility and facilities

Because of the varied terrain and gradients involved, this route is not rated as being suitable for wheelchair and pushchair-users.

While there is no public toilet on the walk route, the Lymefield Garden Centre, open 7 days a week, is close by with a café and toilets for customers. There are also pubs and shops available in Broadbottom village.

How to get there

The start point named in the leaflet (the visitor centre) is now the Lymefield Arts and Crafts Centre, and is given as the main start point on this page. This is only a short walk from Broadbottom train station. The route can also be accessed directly from the station between points 3 and 4 in the description.

To work out how to get to and from the walk start point, simply click the Google Maps link(s) on this page. Then click ‘Directions’ and enter your postcode or location in the relevant field. For public transport options, click on the train icon.

Alternatively, input the postcode(s) shown on this page into the TfGM journey planner at https://my.tfgm.com/#/planner/
