Join us for a fascinating guided walk of Smithills Estate, looking at the area’s history, scenic views, habitats and wildlife.
Step back in time with volunteer Pete Hargreaves to learn about the industry and people who once occupied this now tranquil landscape. Taking a route from Walker Fold through the Smithills Estate onto Winter Hill, you will learn about how the site has changed over the years. There are spectacular views along the way over Bolton and Greater Manchester. See if you can find Beetham Tower, Jodrell Bank and even, on a clear day… the mountains of Snowdonia!
