Whilst fairly close to motorways for much of its length, this short section introduces the walker to some quiet and peaceful areas of Salford.
This is one of the 10 routes of the Salford Trail – a new, long-distance walk of about 50 miles/80 km, entirely within the boundaries of the City of Salford. It was devised by members of Manchester and Salford Ramblers in conjunction with Salford City Council and Transport for Greater Manchester. Leaflets describing the other stages of the trail can also be downloaded from this site.
Accessibility and facilities
While many sections of the route are likely to be suitable for wheelchair-users and for families with pushchairs, we have not been able to verify conditions on the ground. For this reason, we are not currently classifying this walk as wheelchair or pushchair-friendly.
All of the walks on the Salford Trail are designed to be – and are most easily – accessed by public transport.
