Torkington Park is the main park in the Hazel Grove area and the home of the Secret Garden. The park is home to a formal flower garden. It’s a great place to walk round or just sit down and enjoy the wildlife.
The park also has extensive recreational facilities, including football pitches and tennis courts. This makes it a hugely popular destination for sports fans across Stockport.
Torkington Lodge, a grade II listed Regency building, dominates the landscape from its elevated position.

According to the park guide, some parts of the park are wheelchair-accessible, though some paths are steep. A disabled toilet is also available.
How to get there
The main entrance to the upper park is behind Torkington Lodge (access from Torkington Road), listed as the main access point below. Another entrance is situated off Buxton Road and is ideal for access to the lower park. The coordinates for this are also given below.
