The Walk with Sisters: is a six-month initiative designed to provide practical support and a safe, welcoming environment for Muslim women in Radcliffe (East/North/West)- Bury to increase their physical activity. The project has involved a series of structured, weekly walking sessions
tailored to be accessible for inactive participants. The walks has been low-intensity at first, gradually increasing in duration and pace to improve fitness. These sessions has also been complemented by monthly social gatherings at local community centre, which have included educational talks on the health benefits of walking, proper footwear, and maintaining a physically active lifestyle. Our goal is to not only facilitate walking but to build a self-sustaining network of women who feel confident and motivated to continue exercising together.
