Trafford Ramblers

Welcome to Trafford Ramblers

The Ramblers Trafford Group started with its inaugural walk and meeting on Tuesday 15th June, 2010 and now have around 225 members. We are part of the Greater Manchester & High Peak Area of the Ramblers national organisation.

We organise led walks every week and have an active Footpath Team who monitor and help maintain local footpaths and rights of way across Trafford.

Ramblers groups help local people enjoy walking and protect the places we all love to walk. Most groups organise regular walks led by local experts – a great way to get outside, make new friends and discover how walking boosts your health and happiness.

In 2014, our footpaths officer June Mabon and the Ramblers Trafford Group Path Maintenance Team won the Ramblers President’s Volunteer Award for “Protecting where we walk”! Along with volunteers who monitor local paths, the group works with the council on keeping the local network of footpaths clear.

Our walks

We have regular weekly walks on Thursdays, within less than about an hour’s drive in Lancashire, Cheshire and the Peak district, and shorter local strolls fortnightly on Saturdays. Our programme of walks can be consulted here.
