Connecting South Manchester

Walk description:

A big hike discovering the area’s green and blue spaces.
Expect lots of opportunities for spotting wildlife.
The route starts with an urban walk to Didsbury, then through Fletcher Moss Park. We join the Mersey and walk via Northenden and on to Chorlton Water Park. We’ll leave the river at Hardy’s Farm to travel through Chorlton and then join the Fallowfield Loop to return to Withington.
Flat terrain, including paths next to the riverbank. Some paths may be muddy. 1 very short, steep (paved) uphill section.
This is a 12 mile walk and there will be rest stops along the way. 5-6 hrs.
Toilets available at start/ end, and at Fletcher Moss, Chorlton Water Park and in Chorlton.
Please bring something to eat and drink. Or support our local shops and buy your refreshments in Withington or Didsbury.
A free scoop of ice cream at the end of the walk for all participants.
No booking – just turn up.
