Steps to Thrive – Walking Together is a gentle community walking programme for women and families from underrepresented communities who often feel unable to walk alone due to past experiences of discrimination, safety concerns and social isolation. The aim is to improve physical and mental wellbeing, build confidence in using local outdoor spaces and strengthen a sense of belonging.
Delivered in safe, accessible local parks and neighbourhood routes, the walks combine light physical activity, friendly conversation and peer support, linking directly to the theme of inclusion, connection and healthier communities. By creating a welcoming group environment, participants are supported to become more active and independent in their daily lives.
Community Thriving Together CIC is a women-led organisation that provides culturally sensitive wellbeing, learning and volunteering opportunities. We support people facing barriers to mainstream services to enjoy, learn and stay connected within their community.
