Walk and Talk project supports access to green spaces across Salford.

Walk and Talk was developed by Age Friendly Salford in response to people feeling unsure about what to expect when visiting Salford’s public green spaces. Short videos were created in the pilot phase of the project that illustrate the space for social distancing, provide directions and information on the availability of facilities. The videos feature local landmarks such as Buile Hill Park, the wetlands, Victoria Park and Parr Fold Park.

Age Friendly Salford are now pulling together a short lessons learnt report and will be looking at how to extend the work as a nature based social prescribing model.

Take a look at the places Walk and Talk has visited so far in this YouTube video.

Age Friendly Salford is a programme of work funded by Salford Clinical Commissioning Group and Salford City Council to engage and support older people to age well.

It is delivered by a partnership of voluntary sector organisations: Inspiring Communities TogetherAge UK Salford and Salford CVS.
