Abigail’s Trails specialises in small- group guided walks, led by professional qualified Lowland and Mountain Leaders with Outdoor First Aid.
Fronted by a Geography Teacher / Ecologist, with a passion for nature and it benefits to us, this is at the heart of what we do. We aim to empower others in adventure on the trails whilst discovering, appreciating and respecting the beauty of our natural environment.
We also provide nature activities, navigation training and guided walks for both primary and secondary schools, youth groups, and other organisations.
We provide a variety of walks and activities, which promote a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle for everyone. As well as providing inspirational, memorable and exciting walks for people of ALL ages, we also deliver accredited navigation training through the National Navigation Award Scheme for both adults and children.
Walks to suit
We have walks to suit all abilities and our schedule changes throughout the seasons, from our Grand Scale Trail (Mountain Walks) and challenges (e.g. Rossendale Way (45 mile) and Irwell Sculpture Trail (15 mile)) in the Summer, for the most experienced, through to short, flatter routes for beginners.
Our Nailing the Trails course is designed for absolute beginners, where a small group gradually build up their fitness and confidence together aiming to feel comfortable to walk on the hills, over a number of weeks. With an experienced qualified guide you will also get advice on kit, walking techniques and general fitness / wellbeing.
Snail Trails are our toddler group walks. The walks are usually less than 1 mile long with a nature based activity and snack and hot drinks provided half way. Suitable for ages 18 months to 4 years (babies and older siblings also welcome).
Quail Trails are our monthly guided family-friendly walks, which are approximately 2-3 miles long. Suitable for children aged 4+ and their families, we incorporate plenty time to play in nature, discover and investigate the world around us, and we also provide hot drinks and a snack half way! Individual adults are also more than welcome. Find out more on family trails here www.abigailstrails.co.uk/family-trails
