Walk your way to health this year with Let’s Go For A Walk, an initiative launched by Oldham Council.
Let’s Go For A Walk aims to encourage people to take those first steps to a healthy lifestyle. With free guided walks being held across Oldham’s fantastic parks and countryside sites, this new initiative is a great way to have fun and get active. The list of forthcoming walks and locations can be consulted here.
All walks are in the local neighbourhood and are a fantastic way to meet new friends and socialise. We are also looking suitable and enthusiastic volunteers to help deliver walks. If you know your local area and can motivate people please get in touch.

Walking for Health
Walking for Health is England’s largest network of health walks with over 360 active walking schemes, helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. We’ve done this with great success for over 14 years, improving the mental and physical well-being of thousands of people.
Our walks are short and over easy terrain, and are open to everyone but are especially aimed at those who are least active.
Many of our walkers start walking to improve their health, but find it easy to keep coming back because of all the new friends they’ve made. So as well as all the physical health benefits, Walking for Health is also great for your social life!
