High Peak Ramblers

Welcome to New Mills & District Ramblers

The New Mills Ramblers group is a long-established walking group. We are one of almost 500 groups across the country that is part of The Ramblers, a charitable organisation of 100,000+ members, whose goal it is to promote the enjoyment and benefits of walking and to protect and enhance where we walk.

Our group’s area covers the Derbyshire’s High Peak between the two cities of Greater Manchester and Sheffield. We are a member group of the Greater Manchester and High Peak Area within the Ramblers national organisation. New members are always welcome – from both High Peak and adjoining areas such as Stockport and Tameside.

Our walks

We are based in a wonderful area for walking. It includes the Dark Peak, with Kinder Scout which is the highest point in England south of the Yorkshire Dales, and the White Peak with its interesting limestone scenery.

Our walks programme ranges across this area with trips further afield to North Wales, the South Pennines, and other places within reach of a day trip. Social events include meals out and short breaks away in Spring and Autumn.

28th October 2023

We are holding a walk on the 28th of October 2023 Strines to Marple (GM Ringway Section 6). All are welcome. If you would like to attend then contact the walk leader Lesley R 0n 07789 862710. Find more information here.

Contact details

We encourage all walkers to join the Ramblers although non-members are very welcome to come along to try out a few walks to see if this is the group you would like to join.
