Gorse Hill Walking Routes

The routes were developed by Love Old Trafford and other local groups as part of Right to the Streets . With local people, Right to the Streets has been exploring how we can make our streets and public spaces safer, more welcoming and joyful for women and girls.

Why? Because research shows that everyday sexual harassment and fear of gender-based violence makes it more difficult for women to lead active lives. We want to change that by reclaiming these spaces.

Route A has a mixture of quiet paths and main roads with plenty of places for rest and refreshment. This is a one mile route which is suitable for all fitness levels.

Route B is a flat, circular route that includes three local parks and is suitable for all fitness levels. The two mile route has easily accessible paths and lots of places to rest and get refreshments.

Route C is the longest route which offers a mix of greenery and waterside views along Bridgewater Canal. This route is just over 3 miles long and is suitable for all fitness levels.

The map below outlines each route and has detailed directions.
