Big Wigan Walk Week – Top Lock Canal History Walk

Walk description:

Take a break and join us for a walk up the beautiful Wigan Flight.

Meeting in front of the blue machine in front of the mill.

We will walk up to the Top Lock accompanied by ‘The Volunteer Lock Keeper’ who has extensive knowledge of the canal and Wigan. 5 miles approx.

The walk terminates at The Kirkless Inn where refreshments are available to purchase.

There will be the option to do the return walk with one of the walk leaders after a rest break or to make your own way back and miss the pub.

Parking available at The Mill £1 charge.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the walk start for registration.

Wear suitable footwear. Dress for the weather.

Toilets available en route and at The Kirkless Inn
