Cadishead based charity, Hamilton Davies Trust worked with the local community to transform Irlam Station into a modern cafe/heritage hub. We hope on your visit, you’ll enjoy your encounter with our heritage signal box, steam engine display/and associated rolling stock. This guided walk led by Suzanne our Heritage and Arts Coordinator, weaves local history stories. Showcasing, how the Manchester Ship Canal transformed a farming community into an industrial landscape of steel, coal and engineering. Celebrating the 130th birthday of the biggest British engineering project of it’s time.
