I lead an early evening health walk in Great Lever, each Tuesday from 6.30 pm, from Southfields Sizzling New, Restaurant & Bar Car Park on Green Lane.
As more and more people come on-board, from time to time, I will put a pre-walk tea out social on ahead too, from Southfields also.
Any suggestions for other health walks ahead, I’m always interested to hear about too.
Our walks and other activities
My weekly evening health walk is brand new, so to start it is in the Great Lever area of Bolton but am open to suggestions elsewhere ahead too.
The health walk is around 3-4 miles in length and will take a little over an hour. I recommend to bring a bottle of water and if you forget, you could purchase a bottle from Southfields Bar & Restaurant, before joining my health walk also.
Our walks are predominately pavement / roadside in nice, scenic areas. Always wear suitable clothing for the weather, with comfortable shoes that aren’t obliged to return home as unclean as field walking perhaps.
The group’s Tuesday evening health walk is level ground, with some slight downhill, easy walk and a little bit uphill also.
My weekly health walk is suitable for fitness abilities of all levels and are good for people like me, who may struggle with mornings in particular also. They’re also good for people who:
may suffer from anxiety and/or depression
want to meet new people and make some new friends
want to be more physically active
My health walk is the only one, as far as I am aware, that is early evening also, the majority of other health walks in Bolton are mornings, with a few in the afternoons instead. There are lots of benefits to an after-tea social health walk too e.g. helps with digestion and can aid a better night’s sleep as well.
