Welcome to Rochdale Ramblers

The Rochdale Group was established in October 1994 and is part of the Greater Manchester and High Peak Area within The Ramblers, a charitable organisation of 100,000+ members, whose goal it is to promote the enjoyment and benefits of walking and to protect and enhance where we walk.

Currently, we have 214 members and new members are always welcome.

Our walks

We organise walks on weekends and alternate Thursdays. Most of the walks are in and around the South Pennine area and are off road in rural areas. Thursday walks are usually 6 to 7.5 miles and of a moderate grade. Weekend walks are on alternate Saturdays and Sundays, normally moderate grade and between 7.5 and 12 miles. We also organise leisurely Saturday walks once a month of about 5 miles and some social events.

Click here for details of the current walking schedule and further information. The current walks programme is also available from local libraries and advertised in various places including Rochdale Online. For more information on a walk, please contact the walk leader.

During the summer months, we occasionally organise coach trips to walk further afield. There is a charge for these trips and places must be booked with the walk leader; see the walks programme.
