Walk & Talk – Rochdale

1 of 3

Welcome to Rochdale’s Walk & Talk scheme

Walk & Talk Boroughwide Health Walks are short weekly walks designed for people who wish to gain the benefits of regular exercise, whilst talking to like-minded people. Your local Health Walks are provided by the Rochdale Living Well Service, part of Big Life Centres, Rochdale.

For full information, and details of forthcoming locations and dates of the walks, visit this page.

Our advertised weekly ‘rain or shine’ walks are led by our valued team of very experienced volunteer walk leaders. The health walks are free, friendly and fun. We have walks on each week day setting off at the same time and day each week, walking through woodlands, down country lanes and crossing open countryside.

We also have a number of other walks taking place that are not advertised, as they are health walks set up with various community groups within our borough of Rochdale including Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale. These walks are tailored to the group’s needs, whether it’s a one-off taster walk or a 6 to 12-week programme of walks. If you are a community group in the Rochdale Borough, why not get in touch with Danny Smith using the contact details below.

Walking for Health

Walking for Health is England’s largest network of health walks with over 360 active walking schemes, helping people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. We’ve done this with great success for over 14 years, improving the mental and physical well-being of thousands of people.

Our walks are short and over easy terrain, and are open to everyone but are especially aimed at those who are least active.

Many of our walkers start walking to improve their health, but find it easy to keep coming back because of all the new friends they’ve made. So as well as all the physical health benefits, Walking for Health is also great for your social life!
