Overview

Leverhulme Park is located on Long Lane, Bolton. This park has a huge range of facilities including a football pitch, a running track, dog walking areas and nature trails plus an orienteering course and cycle trail. According to Bolton Council, maps can be bought from the Community Centre Reception.

The Woodland Trust adds, “As the largest area of public parkland in Bolton, it offers a mix of open grassland, play areas and woodland. Clear paths run through established and newly planted areas and alongside the river. The lack of waymarking requires some exploration for newcomers.”

On this page, we have provided a general map so that you can explore at leisure.

Accessibility and facilities

According to an access guide published by Bolton Council, Leverhulme Park appears to cater for visitors with disabilities and families with pushchairs. The guide notes that the width of the pedestrian access gate is suitable for wheelchairs at 1m and that disabled parking is available. Images online also indicate that many paths are level and well-surfaced.

We understand that hot drinks and toilets may be available in the leisure centre (marked as the start point below).
